Alison Krauss'
Forget About It (1999)

Synopsis : Alison merges her bluegrass fiddle with pop hooks and moving lyrics for this cross-genre masterpiece.

Brothy's Favorite Tracks : "Ghost in This House" and "Stay"

Brothy's Least Favorite Track : "Forget About It" - Not that I like it any less than any of the other tracks, I have just heard this one more than the others and am slightly tired of it. There really isn't a bad track to be found on this CD though.

Brothy's Opinion in a Nutshell : Alison has one of the most beautiful voices around. I have always wanted to sing a duet with her. This CD has such great melodies that it is easy to harmonize with her and imagine our future debut at the Ryman Auditorium. Although, I love her bluegrass albums and her recordings with her band Union Station and with the Cox Family, this album is less predictable in its stylings. Bluegrass tends to be a bit repetitive in its meter and progression. With "Forget About It" Ms. Krauss mixes things up a bit and lets us know that she will not be placed in a box.
