The Godfather--Part II (1974)

Synopsis : Two intermingled story lines reveal the childhood and rise to power of Don Vito Corleone and the moral decline of his son Michael.

Brothy's 3 Favorite Lines :

1. "Fredo, I know it was you. You broke my heart!" - Michael to Fredo Corleone

2. "He got a bullet in the eye and I didn't ask.who gave the order? Because it wasn't personal it was business. I said to myself, 'This is the business we have chosen!'" - Hymen Roth to Michael

3. "I'm gonna make him and offer he don't refuse." - Young Vito Corleone

Brothy's 3 Favorite Scenes :

1. When Vito played by Robert DeNiro kills the old Sicilian Boss who has been terrorizing his neighborhood.

2. When Fredo goes fishing on the lake and says his Hail Mary's as he casts his line in and then is assassinated.

3. As with the 1 st Godfather the best part is the last 10 minutes of the film when Michael ties up all the "loose ends."

Brothy's Opinion in a Nutshell : You can't watch this movie just once. Most fans watch it at least once every couple of years. I watch it at least once a month. It reminds me that my life isn't as complicated as it may sometimes appear. I don't have old bosses, the US government or my own brother out to get me. This movie reveals the psychological damage that being in an amoral family can have. It makes the descent into crime almost understandable and at the same time something so horrific that you thank God that you are not a Corleone.
