Brothy's Philosophical Canundrum: If you could go back to then, knowing what you know now, could you make life any better? Ummmm... If you knew then what you know now, would you know what you knew before it was then and it was now? No wait. If you knew that you knew what you knew when you knew that what you knew was new would you know that you know something new? Ahhh. my brain hurts, just read the book and you will know what I know and then you will know what I didn't know when I read the book. before.

Brothy's Opinion in a Nutshell : I read this book in 1987 when we lived in Milton. I believe Mom and Dad and Judy and probably a few others in the family also read it about that time. It was one of those books that stayed with me over the years. Its been almost 20 years and again and again I remember the story and the questions it raises. Sometimes I wonder of how different life would be if I had become a doctor, or had married someone not as wonderful, or if I had just picked up and moved to Europe after high school. These are the questions posed by Grimwood in this novel. Sometimes the answers are wonderful and other times the answers are horrific. The book is gripping and well worth the read if you can find a copy. Rumor has it that they are currently making a movie version of the novel starring Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts. Just a rumor as far as I can tell.
